President's Report

Thank you to everyone who made it out to our events this year. In October we started everything off by hosting an “Introduction to Lean” class at Alberta Oil Tool. In 2017 we continued learning as we held a fantastic two part series put on by the Lock Search Group called “Standing Out Among Your Peers”, where we learned to create clean efficient resumes to highlight our achievements and avoid common resume mistakes. We also learned the importance of social media and how to create a professional on-line presence and not eliminate yourself before the interview even begins. The second part, “Interviews From Both Sides of the Desk” we got a valuable look into what is going on below the surface in job interviews.

In April we toured the production facility of CanTorque and got an interesting look at a local success story in the bolting industry.

Our 2016- 2017 season ends with our Annual General Meeting so I hope you can all join us.
