Board Elections

On June 14th, 2016 APICS Edmonton Chapter will hold general elections for board positions. If you or anyone you know would like to serve for any of the positions, please forward nomination requests to INFO@APICSEDMONTON.COM by May 25th.  Each position is a 2 year term and the estimated time commitment is four to six hours per month.  Eligible candidates for election or voting must be current members of the APICS Edmonton Chapter.  It is important that we fill positions with new volunteers.  Volunteers benefit by earning certification maintenance points.

We are always looking for volunteers to help with our events committee, social media, or marketing.  At any time please contact INFO@APICSEDMONTON.COM for more information.

Below is a brief outline of the responsibilities of each of the positions. 

President

  • Presides at all meetings of the Chapter and the Board.
  • Appoints, with Board approval, any office vacated by an officer or director to fill an expired term.
  • Provides leadership and strategic direction of the Chapter.
  • Main contact with APICS Region & HQ.
  • Attend Region & HQ functions on behalf of the Chapter.

 

VP of Education

  • Responsible for organizing and presenting seminars, courses, workshops, and other professional development activities in carrying out the purposes of the Chapter.
  • Liaison with the educational facility and the scheduling of classrooms as required.
  • Responsible for the recruitment and scheduling of required instructors.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and issuing of course certificates.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the President.

 

VP of Communication

  • Responsible for the planning and execution of the Chapter’s marketing plan.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Chapter’s website.
  • Responsible for the promotion of the Chapter.
  • Responsible for the creation and publication of the Chapter’s newsletter.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the President.

 

VP of Marketing

  • Responsible for organizing plant tours, dinner meetings and other professional development activities in carrying out the purposes of the Chapter.
  • Responsible for publicizing the Chapter’s activities and the achievements of the Chapter members in all news and social media.
  • Coordinates the creation of required mailers, handouts, and presentation material.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the President.

 

VP of Membership

  • Maintain an accurate list of the membership of the Chapter.
  • Promote the attendance of the members to the functions of the Chapter and The Association.
  • Develop and execute a follow-up procedure for members whose membership has lapsed.
  • Responsible for promoting the Chapter Awards Program and the recognition of outstanding Chapter members for their contribution to the Chapter and the profession.
  • Supports the Marketing and Communication activities.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the President.

 

VP of Administration

  • Maintain a record of the minutes of all regular and special Board and Chapter meetings.
  • Ensures compliance with C-BAR requirements.
  • Ensures Chapter Articles are followed and amended as necessary.
  • Chairs board and committee meetings in the absence of the President.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the President.

 

Treasurer

  • Responsible for all of the Chapter’s financial activities.
  • Ensures bills and vendors are paid in a timely matter.
  • Provides monthly statements of the financial condition of the Chapter.
  • Issues all cheques authorized by the Board on the Chapter’s financial account(s).
  • Arranges for a yearly review of the financials.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the President.
